What happened at Groovefest
Groovefest opened with a sunrise contemporary piece on the main stage, then split into two tracks: performances in the main hall and open workshops in Studio Two. Over 400 dancers took part — students, guest crews and first-time visitors who joined a taster class and stayed for the evening show.
The evening program stacked ballet variations against breaking battles, with a salsa social closing the night. Guest DJs kept the foyer moving between sets, and our instructors premiered a collaborative finale piece fusing all three signature styles.
- Two stages with 26 performances from students and guest crews
- Twelve open workshops — ballet, hip-hop, salsa, house and more
- Evening salsa social with live percussion and guest DJs
- Over 400 dancers, from first-timers to touring professionals
The program
