What hip-hop at Coppergrace entails
Hip-hop here starts with foundation: bounce, rock, grooves and isolations drilled to classic and current tracks. Each 60-minute class layers footwork, musicality and texture, then builds into a choreographed combo you film at the end of the session.
Cyphers close every Friday class — a judgment-free circle where dancers trade freestyle rounds while the crew hypes each move. Our instructors battle and choreograph professionally, so combos stay fresh and rooted in real hip-hop history, from locking and popping to new-school choreography.
- Foundation drills plus a filmable combo in every single class
- Friday cyphers and monthly open-style battles for all levels
- Beginner, intermediate and crew tracks with clear level-up goals
- Guest choreographers from touring artists every season
How you progress
Grooves 101 → Choreo Lab → Crew Training. Dancers who train twice a week typically join cyphers confidently within three months and crew auditions within a year.

Yes — monthly open-style battles, the annual Hip Hop Hustle showcase, and crew showcases each season. Crew Training members perform; everyone else can simply enjoy the show.
